Howard Payne Dual Credit Courses


Dual credit courses cost $100 per semester if a student and parent attend an HPU orientation meeting scheduled before the start of the first semester.  Otherwise, tuition is $250 per semester.

Admission Requirements:

High School Juniors may be accepted to the dual credit program in the summer following their sophomore year in high school if the following conditions are met:

1. Complete an application for early admission (available through counselors office)
2. Provide an official high school transcript
3. Must have verification the student successfully completed the sophomore year of high school and is classified as a junior when the college-course term begins
4. Score 2300 and a 3 on ELA for writing-based courses; score 2300 on math and/or science for math or science courses. Students wishing to take advanced math courses must receive approval from high school math teacher.  (Please talk to your counselor if you have any questions.)

High School Seniors may be accepted to the dual credit program if the following conditions are met:

1. Complete an application for early admission (available through counselors office)
2. Provide an official high school transcript
3. Provide official ACT or SAT score results if taken
4. Provide an official transcript of college work taken from other institutions
