Welcome to Ms. Williams's NJHS Homepage!
Ms. Jen Williams
Happy New Year! This is my fifth year at BMS, and I'm excited about it! I am a Brownwood native (Class of '82), and I teach 8th Grade English Language Arts and 8th Grade Pre-AP ELA. I have a BBA from Tarleton State University and a MEd Mid-management from Sul Ross State University. I have been in education for 27 years (22 as a teacher and 5 as an administrator). I have worked at Gordon, Ysleta (El Paso), Coleman, and Lockhart ISDs. I have taught high school, worked as an administrator at high school and elementary levels, and now I'm at the middle school level, a level I never thought I'd teach. (Would you believe some people are afraid of teaching middle school?) I love it! I love the kids and all their open minds they bring to class every day. I also love being at this particular school--BMS is the best campus in the district. (I mean no offense to the other schools, but I really enjoy being here with our administrators, faculty, and staff. It is a happy place to work.) Each year in NJHS, I try to improve over the previous year. We meet every month, the first Thursday of the month. Be sure to listen to morning announcements for meetings, activities, and information you need to know. We stay busy with fundraisers and school-wide activities that we NJHS members sponsor. Officers were elected right after new members induction last spring. Be sure to attend our first meeting, the second week of school, September 1. If you did any volunteering over the summer be sure to put that info on a form for required volunteer hours for the fall. You can get those forms in my classroom, 203, at the meetings. See you Thursday, September 1st!
