Welcome to the Principal's Page!
Name: Jenny Swanzy
I am thrilled and excited to be principal of Woodland Heights this year!
What a warm welcome I have experienced, and what a fantastic team of staff, teachers, and families I have received at Woodland Heights! I love being an elementary school principal. As I come to Woodland Heights, I hope to meet each of you, and assure you that together we will work hard to make your child's years at Woodland Heights successful and rewarding.
I recieved my undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in 1990, majoring in curriculum & instruction, minoring in reading and math. In addition, I received an endorsement in Early Childhood Education. In 1996 I completed my graduate studies at Angelo State University, earning 2 master's degrees at this time-one as a reading specialist and one in mid-management/principal certification.
I have 2 fantastic boys in my home. Tucker is a 12 year old and will be attending Brownwood Middle School this fall. Tanner is a 7 year old 2nd grader who will be attending Woodland Heights! They are the loves of my life!
I have been an educator for 20 years, serving as a principal the past 10 years, an assistant principal for 1 year, and a classroom teacher for 9 years in grades K, 2, 4, and 5. I love working with children, teachers, and families! I am amazed that I find myself beginning my 21st year in education. How time flies when you love what you do!
