Welcome to Mrs.Loftin's Homepage!
Stacy Loftin, LPC
I am so excited to start my third year at East! This is my 16th year as an educator! I graduated from Tarleton with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education in Counseling from UNT. As a school counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor, it is my desire to partner with the teachers and parents to meet the social, emotional and educational needs of our children at East. I will hold individual and group counseling sessions for our students, as well as work with teachers and Mrs. Wilbourn to implement any behavior interventions. I can see a student 6-8 times individually. If counseling needs to be continued, I will talk to you about an outside referral for services.
In classroom guidance, we will focus on the '7 Habits of Happy Kids' and learn and apply the principles of The Leader In Me. Students will also learn what it means to have a Growth Mindset! In other words, our intelligence isn't set (isn't that GREAT NEWS!). When we exercise our brain and challenge ourselves, we can improve our brain function ability to learn. I will be in Pre-K classes every week and in Kindergarten-3rd grade every two weeks.
In my time away from school, I am a busy mom of four, with 3 still at home. We are active in our church and our children's sports and school activities. We live out in the middle of nowhere in Bangs, and life in the country is always interesting with our dogs, chickens, cows and horses. And of course, lots of wildlife!
Parents, if you would like tips to help with your child's school work and/or behavior at home, Region 15 Service Center has a great newsletter available each month in both English and Spanish in all age groups. You can go to http://www.netxv.net/Page/102 for information.
Please contact me if you have any questions, concerns or if there is a way I can help your family. I look forward to having a fabulous year!
