BAND

Students from the Brownwood Middle School Band went and competed in the Region 7 UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest hosted by Tarleton State University on Wednesday, April 5th.  The band earned 4 Superior ratings and 2 Excellent ratings.  This averages out to a UIL Sweepstakes Award!  This is the third time in Brownwood Middle School Band history to earn a Sweepstakes.

Some of the judges had this to say about the band:

Virginia Olsovsky, band director from Cross Timbers Middle School, “You all played with such a beautiful blend and tone.” She also mentioned that the band is “very musical, and well trained ensemble.”

Brent Colwell, band director from Temple College, “This is a very good band.”

And Denise Stitzel, director from Mansfield ISD, wrote “Good style, well controlled, and nice blend” and “good discipline in the band, I enjoyed your performance!”

Congratulations to the band for an outstanding performance and thank you for all of the hard work.

The Brownwood Middle School Band will perform next at the Night of the Arts hosted at Brownwood Middle School on April 20th.  Come listen to the bands and choirs perform, see an art gallery hosted by the art students, or check out what woodshop and metal shop have been building!
