Northwest Neighborhood Reading Party Huge Success

We had our annual Neighborhood Reading Party with a "Camping" theme on Tuesday, September 20th, and it was a huge success. We were excited that so many attended the party. The highlight of the party was the reading of the book A Camping Spree with Mr. Magee by Chris Van Dusen by Ms. Meghan Blake, our librarian. Ms. Blake did an awesome job, and the children were evidently very entertained as many laughs and hoorays were heard throughout the reading process.

Children were given the opportunity for prizes with tickets handed to them as they walked in. Numbers were drawn throughout the party for the different prizes that many kids wanted. Everyone who came were given the chance to buy a hot dog, chips, and a soda for $2.00 during the reading. All the children were invited on stage to dance to music that was being played while enjoying their meal.

Members of the PTO were busy selling memberships for the 2016-2017 year. Each grade had sign in sheets and gave information handouts on how to help your child be a better student with all the different subjects in school.
As students and families left the party, students were given one free book from a wide selection of books handed out by Mrs. Young and Mrs. Northcutt.
